Welcome to SEE CHANGE

Financial independence & Generational Wealth for People of Color

Learn More About See Change

Let’s dig into a conversation we don’t usually get to have.

See Change - Horizontal

The financial industry is designed to take advantage of People of Color and poor people.

Where can we, as People of Color, get financial advice that isn’t from a mostly white, mostly male, mostly economically privileged perspective?

From how we bank, to our how credit scores are calculated, to how we are kept in the dark about investing, to how we pay our taxes, the system is set up for us to get caught in a debt/poverty cycle and stay running just to tread water. The rules change all the time so the people on top stay on top.

What if you not only knew the rules, but knew exactly how to apply it to your own financial situation?

What if you were able to not only reverse your financial mistakes, but start making the rules work for you?

When we can See Change, we can start a sea change.

The definition of a sea change is a profound and notable transformation. These great profound changes do not happen with one event or one moment, they happen over generations.

Change happens incrementally, which makes it all the more important to share and celebrate changes in our personal finances so we can create a sea change in our collective capital, our public policy, and our economic system.

Ready to be a See Changer? Let’s start now.

This isn’t a financial education course or an accountability group. You won’t find any get rich quick schemes or fast money tips. What you will find is a community of members dedicated to learning how the system works, examining their own money habits and behaviors, and becoming their own financial advocates.

We have a lot to learn from each other and have spent too long trying to do it alone. It’s time to come out from behind closed doors and turn our individual knowledge into collective action.

years for the average Black family to catch up to the wealth of a white family today

The racial wealth divide is a chasm that’s only growing. Understanding how your personal finances work and relate to the bigger financial system is one of ways you can help close the racial wealth divide for your family and community.

Does this sound familiar?

You’re working hard at your job or business, but…

You can often count the number of People of Color in the room on one hand, including yourself. You’re tired of getting asked where are you really from or if someone can touch your hair (Are you just being too sensitive?). You put in the same hours and the same amount of work as everyone around you, but for some reason, it feels like you’re swimming upstream.

You know you’re undervaluing your work

It’s hard to balance asking for what you’re worth and just being grateful for what you have. You don’t want to seem like you’re complaining — and you definitely don’t want to give anyone a reason why you shouldn’t get the gig or keep your job… But it feels like resources and connections that everyone seems to have access to remain outside your grasp.

You want to believe you can do anything

The advice you get like “follow your passion” and “fail forward” sounds nice, but that’s not an option. You’re the safety net for your family, not the other way around. You’re one of the few in your family with the college degree and your loved ones look to you for support and stability.

Your family still has no idea what you do

…because you didn’t become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or teacher. You were taught the path to success was get good grades, go to a good college, get a good job and learned the hard way that it was this very structure that was holding you back. Even now, you still struggle with explaining to your family what you actually do every day.

And yet you’re still here

At an ungodly hour of the night, in search of your true purpose, and in love with what you get to do every day. You’re still here because the work is more important to you than the BS you have to deal with to get to do it. You’re still here because if you’re not, no one else like you will be.

See Change will help you build the financial resilience you need to start creating generational wealth.

It’s about time there was a place for us to learn and grow together, a place where we can get real, tactical, practical advice on how to really start building wealth, in light of the very real and seemingly invisible obstacles we face (and no, you’re not being too sensitive). It’s a place where we can lift each other up with honest feedback, constant encouragement, and unwavering support. It’s a place where we understand exactly where we’re coming from.

professional support

we believe everyone needs the guidance of a financial professional who is sitting on your side of the table. You will be assigned a financial coach to help you put together your financial plan, know your financial situation, and help you navigate questions you didn’t even know to ask.

education and implementation

Getting advice is one thing, getting it done is a game changer. You’ll be able to dive right into the education courses so you can start learning right away, join group mastermind session to implement the advice, and attend 1-1 office hours sessions with a financial coach if you’re really stuck on something.

community and big picture thinking

We have a lot to learn from each other and a lot to unlearn from the systems we’ve been living in. Every month, we hold live community conversation so we can give space for us to unpack conversations that go beyond our personal finances, discuss racial economic inclusion, and help us see our lives in a different light.
